As you all know on Thursday, October 24th the TALONS class took a trip to Macleod’s Books and to the Vancouver Public Library. Not only were we searching for books about our eminent person we had the privilege to witness the beautiful city on a business day. Which I thought was very interesting because I personally don’t usually go to downtown on days where there is work, thus, making the experience that much more enjoyable. I also thought that implementing the solo was a really great idea to help us embrace the downtown core on a work day. All in all I would say that this trip was very enjoyable and good learning experience for me. Although, I was unable to find a book about Serena Williams during this research trip I learned that the city is much like a factory setting. In order for everything to function and run
smoothly everything should be in-line and working properly. However, as soon as one element of the cycle breaks down, things don’t run as smoothly anymore. Nonetheless, I stay determined to continue to discover more new things about Serena Williams each and everyday.
On a side note, I will say that the book store was pretty jammed packed with books! Everything you touched things would just tumble right over. However, it was very interesting how there were books that were older than me! I found it to be neat how literally every single book genre was in one tiny little store on a corner of the street. The Vancouver Public Library on the other hand, was no where near small. It had six floors of books flooding you with information. Anyways, that was my little overview about the book store and library.
I hope you had just as much fun as I did!
